This RANT, worst TRACKPAD ever ever ever ever ever in the history of our species!! Here goes:- The Apple Macbook Pro 2018 Trackpad and Keyboard. 🚀 Finally change! Build mature and sustainable hardware again, be loyal to your customers for and start paying taxes in the European Union fgs. Where is the old Apple of 2010, where products did not break down in the first place and overall had more transparent practices?
Who am I supposed to trust then, if not Apple ? It can't be that some internal status just wildly changes over time. But as soon as someone takes my money, trust and my time, this is not a joke anymore. Hardware can break down and if repaired I have not an issue with that. 💰 So what Apple is leaving me here with a ludicrous amount of loss in value, waste of time and nerves (which also causes hair loss btw.) – so thanks for nothing. I was aware it must be a refurb device due to the white box but the checkcoverage-site cleary stated warranty until 10/2020 back a few months ago, which now has changed.

According to the "genius bar" employee, this particular keyboard problem is a known issue in the 2018 series but due to the status of my MacBook Pro (Sold "as sold") they can't even apply the keyboard repair program. The phone support said "there is no warranty anymore but it is eligible for the keyboard replacement program". However when I checked the warranty status again, it changed to "expired" for some obscure reason. So I bought the 2020 model to proceed my work and decided to get the 2018 model repaired under the keyboard program and sell it for a reasonable value. After a few weeks, some keys showed the double key-input problem which is just insane when working as a developer. 👨🏽💻 During corona I did home office and apparently I made the mistake to actually use the MacBook's internal keyboard. This MacBook Pro I bought on Marktplaats (Craiglist NL) in November 2019 and checked the warranty for that S/N where I bought it – valid until October 2020 (In general I buy "used" from Marktplaats for our ♻️planet and always with warranty because I don't trust the 2016+ models – for good reasons as it turned out). 🤷🏽♂️ I had been trusting in Apple for more than 15 years.
